Habitat for Humanity partners with their candidates (the families) to help them provide stability for their families and a home to grow in. It really is partnership though -- along with a lot of other requirements, families must complete 500 hours of volunteer work on their home and others', and they must show that they're trying to make it work (as in, the parent(s) have jobs).
